Brooke-Dakini started her career in business, working as a Change Management consultant in various corporate business sectors across Australia for many years.
In 2012, her interest in human consciousness led to a change of direction when she took on the role as a founding director of the not-for-profit organisation, The Vishrant Buddhist Society. In 2017, she co-founded Restful Waters, a wellness centre dedicated to helping people raise their consciousness and thrive in life.
After many years of personal Buddhist psychotherapy training and group work, Brooke-Dakini completed her Diploma of Counselling with the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors in 2015.
Brooke-Dakini is also an accredited HBDI (Hermann Whole Brain Dominance) Practitioner since 2010. The HBDI is a profiling tool used by individuals, couples and teams to help identify people’s thinking preferences and help them improve communication, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
As an accredited counsellor, Brooke-Dakini draws on a number of supportive skill sets including Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness Training.
Her transparent style of counselling guides you to settle into a safe and clear space where you can see how the unconscious and past experiences shape your current behaviours. This encourages you to actively engage in deciding the direction of the work through enquiry and open discussion.
Brooke-Dakini develops a collaborative relationship with her clients to assist them in clarifying concerning issues, developing skilful means and providing a supportive environment in which they can explore, examine and resolve any issues they might be facing in life.
Her approach is respectful and insightful. Her genuine care for others is apparent and consistent throughout her work.
